In The Pale Beyond, the player becomes the manager of a polar expedition. The sea ship stumbled upon reefs and got stuck among huge ice floes. The protagonist takes control of the ship, after which it will be necessary to make difficult choices and solve dilemmas. The right decisions will help you overcome difficulties and pass through the White Desert. Wrong actions will make every member of the crew die and stay in the ice forever.

About five years ago, the ship «Viscount» went on a journey, during which it was required to pass through the White Passage. After some time, people learned that this ship was lost in the ice, there was no information or information from it. A new expedition was assembled and the vehicle «Temperance» was chosen. They need to follow the same path to find out all the reasons for the previous failure.

In the gameplay, you have to make numerous choices that affect the passage in both the short and long term. The actions of the gamer will display the chances of the crew for further survival. You will need to provide security, food and warmth for the team. Sled dogs also require food and can help in certain situations.
