You begin the game as a minor noble, sworn in service to your King. With a selection of a dozen Lords to choose from, each playthrough unfolds as a truly unique and captivating story. There are multiple ways to engage with the game, including the Grand Campaign and a narrative-driven introductory campaign that immerses players in the historical context through nine expertly crafted scenarios.
About This Game
Every action takes place in real-time, with a roguelike game progression that constantly saves your decisions, even during the heat of battle. There are no second chances, no turns, and no multiple reloads. Medieval Kingdom Wars pioneers the fusion of Fixed Force and RTS gameplay. While leading your army into battle, you can simultaneously establish siege camps or towns, gather essential resources, and train fresh troops as the battle unfolds. Prepare for truly epic clashes, with battles featuring up to 120 battalions each. Experience intense sieges, pitched field battles, and naval warfare, all depicted with brutal historical realism and elements of survival. The game even includes features like looting corpses and deconstructing towns for valuable resources.
You have the liberty to manage every aspect up-close and personal by entering towns in RTS mode. Task your peasants, oversee the construction of buildings and fortifications, and strategically position your troops. At the same time, you can oversee your kingdom’s affairs on the world map. The late Middle Ages marked an era of remarkable technological advancements, and the game reflects this with a comprehensive historical tech tree boasting over 240 innovations and local technologies, spanning from religious matters to military tactics and innovative siege techniques. As you enhance your lordship, you’ll navigate the intricate feudal system within your kingdom. Serve your King, foster relations with fellow lords, and influence broader European politics. Eventually, you may even choose to rebel and overthrow your King, opening up an entirely new level of gameplay. Employ new Lords, divide land among them, and engage in the complex diplomatic intricacies of European politics.
