RailGods of Hysterra

RailGods of Hysterra sends 1 to 5 players on a cooperative survival adventure set in a world that has been reshaped by cosmic entities known as the Great Old Ones. Players assume the roles of Dreamers, awakened and inextricably linked to a mobile, living entity called a Railgod. The primary objective is to navigate this reality warped by madness, moving between the last settlements and confronting the changed world.

Survival depends on managing this link and exploring locations populated by hostile cultists and creatures from Lovecraftian mythos. The centerpiece of RailGods of Hysterra is the sentient locomotive itself, born of forbidden rituals and unholy magic rather than simple mechanics. This Railgod pulses with otherworldly life and possesses a sentience that demands the flesh of defeated enemies as fuel for its continued movement across the devastated land.

This fortress on wheels also functions as a formidable weapon against the horrors of Hysterra; players upgrade its carriages with sinister innovations. As the bond between the character and the train grows stronger through dark deeds, greater power is unlocked, allowing them to engage in battles with gigantic creatures and perhaps witness the fall of the Great Old Ones. Gameplay involves exploring an ever-changing world, requiring players to manage resources and maintain their character's health, hunger, and fragile mental state amidst the all-consuming madness.
