Projected Dreams

Projected Dreams places players in a space where the primary mechanic is interacting with toys, which are picked up from shelves and then placed on a table to generate light projections. This interaction results in various shapes being thrown onto a nearby wall, creating an evolving shadow theater where the story is told entirely visually.

As these dark shapes materialize, they gradually reveal a narrative that revolves around family events and life experiences from the 1990s. The player’s surroundings also change, causing a shift in perception and blurring the lines between the imaginary world and reality. The central figure, Senka, guides the player through the story of Projected Dreams, where a silent narrative unfolds detailing the heroine’s personal experiences and emotional states. This journey captures the atmosphere of summer evenings, explores the importance of camaraderie, and touches on the multifaceted nature of farewells.

Solving visual puzzles is the key to progression, requiring precise placement of objects to reproduce a given shadow silhouette on a surface. Completion of the stage is determined by the exact correspondence of the resulting outline using objects provided in the game. Gamers can manipulate objects by rotating them, accurately placing them on the plane, and systematically folding them to achieve the desired shadow configuration. The mechanics of this project allow for multiple correct solutions for each presented task, provided that the final resulting projection fully corresponds to the given target outline.
