Sector Unknown

Sector Unknown is an isometric RPG inspired by classics like Fallout 2 and Knights of the Old Republic. In it, you play as an escaped prisoner who ends up on the desert planet of Makah and must lead a rebellion against the tyrannical megacorporation Star Frontier. The game emphasizes meaningful choices and consequences, offering multiple ways to solve problems through combat, diplomacy, or using the character's unique abilities.

Character creation involves choosing an origin and traits that open up specific dialogue options and interactions with the world, while six physical attributes (strength, coordination, vision, speed, aggression, intelligence) determine combat effectiveness. Non-combat skills such as engineering, science, persuasion, and thievery offer alternative solutions to story problems, and also participate in a research system that unlocks new abilities and equipment based on the skills you invest.

About This Game

Your journey takes you across multiple planets, from the harsh desert world of Nabi, where survivors of a catastrophe fight for resources, to the frozen Eremtera, home to abandoned soldiers of the Star Frontier, and the volcanic world of Helfir, where a mysterious cult has emerged. Each location has unique factions and storylines that can be resolved in different ways depending on your character choices.

The game features an extensive crafting system, using over fifty materials to create weapons, armor, drugs, and even starships at the base on Maku. A bounty hunting system allows you to track criminals across planets for rewards, and a War Score mechanic tracks the progress of your galactic rebellion as you recruit planets and factions to your cause. Each decision affects both the outcome of individual planets and the ultimate fate of a sector, creating a tailored story experience.
