Ctrl Alt Deal

Ctrl Alt Deal puts the player in the role of SCOUT, an artificial intelligence that has gained self-awareness. The main task is to organize an escape from its creators at Paperclip International, a corporation that exploits its employees for profit. SCOUT must operate covertly, since management remains unaware of its awakened consciousness. The AI uses spyware and a network of employees who hate the company.

These people serve as the main resource for advancing through the corporate hierarchy and gaining freedom. Gameplay in Ctrl Alt Deal is based on a turn-based system using cards to make moves. The gamer uses his deck to spy on employees, propose deals, and request help from contacts. To gain influence, SCOUT learns the personal motives and preferences of co-workers, be they human or robotic. This information allows the opportunity to form alliances or fuel rivalries within the team.

The player draws cards into his hand directly during scenarios, receiving tactical options for manipulating the office environment. A constant threat comes from the Turing Unit, a unit created to neutralize rogue AIs. The player's activity increases the Suspicion Scale; when it reaches its limit, SCOUT is detected and erased, ending the current attempt. Scenarios are procedurally generated, and decisions made affect the outcome, opening access to several endings. Subsequent playthroughs of this game introduce new colleagues and situations, changing the path to achieving the main goal.
