Strange Antiquities

Strange Antiquities is an adventure simulator in which players assume the role of an apprentice thaumaturge, managing an occult shop in the mysterious lakeside town of Undermere. In a world where the edges of reality are constantly threatened, you manage a cozy candlelit shop that serves as a source of arcane items and supernatural solutions for the town.

The core gameplay revolves around examining and cataloging strange artifacts using observation skills and reference materials, with mistakes carrying grave consequences. Players must make moral choices when handling powerful items: help customers or curse them, a curse that will be remembered by the residents of the small town. The game combines shop management and exploration elements, as you venture beyond the shop, using hand-drawn maps to investigate rumors and find mysterious items.

Developed by Bad Viking (the duo behind the acclaimed game Strange Horticulture), the game features puzzle-solving mechanics intertwined with the daily operations and hidden secrets of the historic store building itself. The narrative centers on a growing darkness threatening Underworld, and players may be called upon to defend the threshold between worlds. While not a direct sequel to Strange Horticulture, it shares the same atmospheric universe with some familiar faces and references. The game promises the same blend of occult mysteries and welcoming darkness that made its predecessor a hit on Steam.
