Описание

Death by Scrolling is an innovative action roguelite that throws players into the bureaucratic, chaotic depths of Purgatory, Inc. Under new management, the afterlife requires a steep toll to cross the River Styx, turning every run into a desperate, upward sprint. This vertically scrolling RPG subverts the typical survivor genre by forcing constant movement: the bottom of the screen is a persistent, fiery demise, and standing still is simply not an option. You must choose a character from a varied cast, each possessing unique starting perks, then battle hordes of bizarre underworld monsters and demonic bosses while collecting a king's ransom in gold and gems to pay the Ferryman's ever increasing fee.

The core tension of this unique title, developed by Terrible Toybox NZ and published by MicroProse Software, comes from balancing frantic hack and slash combat with strategic resource management. Looting for cash is vital, but so is dodging the relentless, unkillable Grim Reaper, who pursues you closely through the pixel art mayhem. Throughout your purgatorial journey, you will discover quirky vendors and bonus side quests at the top of each level, offering crucial power ups and meta progression upgrades to enhance your next attempt. The latest version of the game emphasizes fast paced, dark humored action, ensuring high replayability and a genuinely unique gameplay loop with its tongue in cheek take on death and eternal struggle.
