Sliding Hero

Sliding Hero is a puzzle-focused Metroidvania where movement becomes the primary objective: you slide in one direction until you encounter an obstacle, forcing you to strategically consider every move. You play as Luca Sycomoro, a Venetian soldier trapped in a mysterious villa inspired by 1700s Venice and the unsettling aesthetic of carnival masks. The game combines puzzle solving with combat: you use environmental hazards, weapons, and momentum to eliminate enemies and overcome deadly traps using easy-to-learn yet challenging sliding mechanics.

Exploration revolves around an interconnected villa filled with hidden passages, locked doors, and secrets that require the discovery of new tools and abilities to access previously inaccessible areas. Numerous weapons offer unique puzzle mechanics, and eccentric characters populate the shadowy halls. Hand-drawn pixel art captures the elegance and eerie atmosphere of a Venetian carnival, complemented by an original soundtrack of Italian Baroque music. Boss fights emphasize strategic thinking over reflexes, and the non-linear design encourages backtracking and shortcuts. The momentum-based movement system is built with speedruns in mind, adding replay value for experienced players. This is a cerebral adventure where every step matters in unraveling the dark mystery of your imprisonment.
