Strategos is a real-time tactical strategy game set in the era of classical antiquity, spanning nearly a millennium of military conflict. The game offers an impressive selection of over 120 factions and 250 unique troop types, representing the mighty powers of the time, from Greek hoplites and Persian immortals to Roman legions. Victory on the battlefield is achieved not by numerical superiority, but by sound tactical planning, where the outcome of battles depends entirely on the strategic genius of the commander.

The game allows you to recreate historical battles, such as the Battle of Issus, and generate hypothetical confrontations in the editor. At the core of the game is a realistic command system. Commanders can only issue orders to nearby units, and couriers are required to communicate with distant units. The course of battle in Strategos is influenced by numerous factors, including terrain, soldier fatigue, and morale. Incorrect decisions lead to panic, flight, or the complete destruction of the battle line. To achieve triumph, a commander must:

• Use terrain features to their advantage.
• Perform flanking maneuvers.
• Carefully monitor the army's morale.
• Choose the optimal time to commit reserve units to battle.
