Dragon Quest X Rise of the Five Tribes Offline is a large-scale role-playing game developed by B.B. Studio with support from Square Enix. It is a standalone version of the popular online RPG Dragon Quest X, significantly redesigned for single-player play, featuring improved graphics and balanced gameplay. Development began with an adaptation of the original online version, and the project was developed by a team of experienced developers specializing in classic JRPGs.
The game's story takes place in the world of Astortia, consisting of five continents and numerous islands. The protagonist embarks on a journey across all continents, home to five different races, to protect the world from a demon invasion. The story revolves around encounters with various characters who become companions on their adventures. Along the journey, the protagonist repeatedly meets new allies, experiences moments of farewell and reunion, and forms deep emotional bonds with other characters.
The gameplay combines classic JRPG elements: open world exploration, turn-based combat, character development, and NPC interaction. Particular attention is paid to story driven cutscenes and dialogue, voiced by professional voice actors. The combat system involves tactical character positioning on the battlefield and the use of various spells and abilities.
