The process of constructing equipment and consumables guarantees survival.

Successful commercial operations amid a global catastrophe are impossible without delegating authority. Hiring survivors allows for raids for scarce raw materials, ensuring perimeter security, and establishing customer service at the counter. The running of The Walking Trade involves meticulous space planning, where the visual appeal of the premises must be balanced with absolute practicality. The exchange of vital supplies, including incredibly valuable batteries, lays a solid economic foundation for the enterprise. Every managerial action inexorably leads the merchant either to unconditional prosperity amid the ruins of the old world or to an inglorious death at the hands of the infected.
