Sonic Origins

Sonic Origins is a captivating collection of video games that brings a nostalgic touch to the gaming world by presenting remasters of four original games in the series. These include classics like Sonic the Hedgehog, its sequel, and Sonic CD, which were originally released on the Sega Genesis platform. A distinctive feature is the inclusion of two modes: Classic and Anniversary. The former adheres to the original format, maintaining the 4:3 aspect ratio. The latter, by contrast, supports widescreen and introduces new features, such as the drop dash from Sonic Mania. Players can control Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles throughout almost all of the games, racing through side scrolling levels at breakneck speed, collecting rings, destroying enemies, and discovering hidden surprises.

Sonic Origins doesn't stop at reviving these iconic games. It also features a story mode that connects the four games through animated cutscenes. The collection also includes a Museum mode, which features exclusive content such as concept art, interviews, and trivia. Players can unlock this treasure trove of additional content by completing missions and challenges in the games. Essentially, this project serves as a bridge between generations, making classic Sonic games more accessible to newcomers to the franchise thanks to the 2020 Sonic film.
