Ground Zero

Ground Zero is a retro survival horror game set in the devastated ruins of South Korea following a catastrophic meteorite impact. Two months after the impact, an elite Korean agent named So yeon and her Canadian partner embark on a reconnaissance mission into the ruins of Busan, where they encounter terrifying mutated creatures created by the meteorite's radioactive fallout. Players must navigate grim, monster infested environments, uncovering the mystery behind the strange growths spreading from the impact site and afflicting survivors. The game features exploration of devastated locations from coastal towns and temples to urban areas all rendered using classic fixed-camera setups and pre-rendered backgrounds that evoke a nostalgic survival horror aesthetic.

The combat system combines firearms and martial arts skills, including shooting, stabbing, kicking, and counterattacking, with cleaner kills earning players Genome Points to upgrade their gear. Players must battle colossal mutated bosses and solve puzzles while managing resources and, optionally, a tank, with adjustable difficulty levels available. The game faithfully recreates classic survival horror gameplay while offering modern elements such as multiple game modes, alternate outfits, and hidden endings. Developed by Malformation Games, the game offers atmospheric tension and strategic combat in a unique post-apocalyptic Korean setting.
