You can build swift, culture‑focused empires under the Feathered Serpent, embrace chaos and illusion with the Smoking Mirror, or demand relentless sacrifices to fuel the war god’s devastating power. The latest version of the game introduces a cinematic 12‑mission campaign set in the heart of Aztec mythology, following the eternal rivalry between Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca that destroys the utopian city of Aztlan.

The strategy depth comes from the new Tonalli life‑force system, where fallen warriors and sacrificed villagers generate divine Favor, letting you call upon powerful god abilities. The expansion also brings nine Minor Gods, including the obsidian butterfly Itzpapalotl, the storm lord Tlaloc, and the corrupting Xolotl, each granting unique god powers, myth units, and strategic bonuses. Beyond the campaign, you will discover five new random maps, new achievements, relics, cheat codes, expanded editor tools, and numerous quality‑of‑life improvements based on community feedback.
