Better Than Dead is a gritty shooter with a body-worn camera perspective, inspired by classic Hong Kong action films and meticulously detailed. The storyline centers on the fate of a surviving woman who decides to exact revenge on her tormentors and capture her actions on camera. The visuals draw inspiration from the aesthetics of late 20th-century Asian crime thrillers, combining the neon glow of entertainment venues with the darkness of back alleys. Each stage is a furious raid where personal grudges take center stage. The protagonist not only eliminates her opponents but also makes the world an unwitting witness to her triumph, broadcasting footage of the brutal massacre.

Clearing city blocks of criminal gangs is accompanied by the search and rescue of other captives caught in the same trap. The environment, from cramped office spaces to open rooftop areas, provides a deeply immersive atmosphere of hopelessness and revenge. The removal of redundant interface solutions and an emphasis on movement physics allow for complete focus on tactical execution. Each precise shot feels like a logical conclusion to preparation, and the elimination of the captors becomes the only way to regain control of your life.
