Escape from Umbra

Escape from Umbra is an indie action-adventure game developed by WildSphere in which you are pursued by Umbra a witch determined to imprison your soul in her shadow-cursed village. Armed only with a flashlight and a mysterious book of clues, you must solve puzzles and navigate a mountain village shrouded in darkness a setting inspired by witch folklore. Your flashlight does more than just light the way; its powerful beam can drive off enemies, though you must manage your battery life carefully. Cats scattered throughout the area act as guides, offering hints at critical moments as you explore the labyrinthine landscape, collecting, examining, and combining items to find a way to escape.

The witch patrols the streets, hunting you down and forcing you to hide and douse your light whenever you hear the telltale creaking of roots. The ghosts she summons track down any light source and pursue you with terrifying speed and precision, though a flash from your light offers a chance to escape. Survival depends on moving stealthily through the shadows, solving riddles, and manipulating environmental elements such as traces of dark magic and frozen mirrors that conceal secrets. The game challenges you to balance stealth, resource management, and puzzle-solving while evading relentless supernatural threats. Your goal is simple yet harrowing: unravel the village's mysteries and break free from Umbra's eternal curse.
