FATAL FURY City of the Wolves

FATAL FURY City of the Wolves marks the return of the fighting game series after nearly 30 years. This title introduces the REV system, a mechanic that provides offensive capabilities from the very beginning of a fight. Using this system unlocks special combat moves until the associated meter fills and overheats. With these gameplay innovations, a new chapter begins for the series.

The REV system in FATAL FURY City of the Wolves includes several components for players to master. These include REV Arts, REV Accel, and REV Blows, the latter of which is available when SPG is active. Fighters utilize these mechanics constantly, managing their attacks until the meter's limitation causes it to overheat, temporarily blocking functions. Subsequently, the fighting game offers different ways to interact with its systems through different command input methods.

Players can choose between two different control methods for selected fighters. Arcade Style requires technical execution of character commands, expecting precision from the controller. Alternatively, Smart Style simplifies special moves and combos using directional inputs combined with individual button presses, making complex sequences easier. This choice provides control modes designed for different levels of experience with the genre. The starting roster includes 22 fighters who will compete on the streets of Southtown. This roster includes 17 fighters available in the base game, including both returning characters from previous installments and completely new characters.
