The Skin Stapler

Carrion City has a new nightmare, and it carries a stapler. The Skin Stapler is an action horror game from Tainted Pact, published by Assemble Entertainment, and it drops you into a neon soaked hunt for a killer whose work is impossible to forget and even worse to find.

The story runs on two currents. As burned out detective Dick Slater, you walk through crime scenes, collect evidence and chase leads through the rotten underbelly of the city. Then the camera switches, and you live the other side of the hunt: ordinary people stalked through their homes, their jobs and the dark streets, trying to last long enough to become survivors. Both halves feed each other, and every perspective changes what the case means.

The game is built as one long horror night, a handcrafted feature presentation with no shortcuts. Every chapter brings its own flavor of dread: investigation, grisly puzzles, or a shift that stops being normal very quickly. Distorted audio tapes taunt the police along the way, and they suggest that the rot goes deeper than one killer.

Style is half the experience. The world looks like a lost 1980s VHS tape: grindhouse colors, neon decay, stylized violence and a grim sense of humor that never apologizes for itself. Every character speaks with a real voice, and the city sounds as sick as it looks.

This is horror that respects handmade work. Nothing here feels generated or recycled; each scene is staged like a short film. The studio behind earlier indie horror tapes clearly enjoys crafting fear by hand, and the result plays like a double feature you watch through your fingers.

The Skin Stapler suits fans of retro slasher mood, detective threads and games that mix blood with a crooked smile. Bring a strong stomach and expect the tape to keep rolling. The night is long, and the killer has plans for the whole city.
