Pixel Airport Tycoon 3D

Pixel Airport Tycoon 3D is an airport building simulation from developer hans-jürgen müller. The game grows an airport from a single small runway into an international hub, with the player in charge of every layer of the operation.

The signature feature is the camera. The airport can be played in a classic top down 2D view or in a full 3D world with a free orbit camera, shadows and a day and night cycle. Switching between the two takes a single key press, and each perspective suits a different kind of task.

Construction starts with the basics. Terminals, runways, taxiways and aprons form the skeleton, and underground fuel pipelines and baggage belts keep the airport alive. More than 40 building types are available, from towers and fuel depots to hotels, fire stations and power plants.

Runways come in three sizes for different aircraft classes, and terminals have four tiers with interiors. Check-in desks, gates, security checkpoints, shops, restaurants and lounges can all be placed inside the terminal building.

Two airport types change the scope. A commercial airport pushes toward a full hub with passengers and cargo, while a private propeller airfield stays compact with small runways and no terminal required.

Operations run in real time. Planes land, taxi to their stands, get serviced and take off again. Towers control how many aircraft can be handled at once, and air traffic controllers have to be hired to keep the flow moving.

Staff and vehicles make up the ground layer. Fuel operators, baggage crews, technicians, customs officers and many other roles keep the airport working, while service vehicles navigate the road network on their own.

Weather plays a real role. Snow, fog and storms affect flight operations, and in winter every aircraft must be de iced before departure. A weather station provides forecasts so the manager can prepare in time.

The economy side is deep. Fuel prices fluctuate, nine fee types can be adjusted individually, and revenue comes from landing fees, refueling, catering, cargo, hotels and terminal shops. Loans are available for faster growth.

The current version is the 17 August 2026 build, tagged Build 24765730. It is a full release packed in an ISO image and ready to install, published on Steam by the developer.
