Sonzai

Sonzai is a mix of platform adventure and RPG. The game was developed by 2 Odd Diodes, an independent two-person studio based in Kolkata, and published by Top Hat Studios. Sonzai takes us on a journey to the fantastic city of Kumotoshi, which attracts wizards from all over the world. The main character of the game is a girl who comes here in search of a new life. The main character develops a magical profession, makes new acquaintances and eventually begins to explore the secrets of the metropolis.

About This Game

In Sonzai, the action was shown from the side. During the game, we accompany the heroine in her daily activities, taking part in magic lessons and talking with the characters we meet. In this way, she makes new acquaintances and deepens relationships with people she has already met. Every citizen has his own personality and history. Revealing the secrets hidden by Kumotoshi is risky, especially on the outskirts of a metropolis controlled by dangerous magical powers, because we often have to face various enemies. The battles are dynamic, and during them we use a wide range of attacks, combining them into spectacular and powerful combos.

Interestingly, the relationship of the heroine affects both the plot and the abilities of the protagonist her combat potential largely determines who she deals with. In addition, as we progress, we get better equipment, runes, divided into passive providing the heroine with various buffs and active powerful spells that require manual use, as well as special modules that affect the girl in different ways. Sonzai has handcrafted 2D graphics. The graphics are designed in a unique style, which makes the game look like ink drawings.
