Returnal is an original third-person shooter with roguelike elements that allows you to immerse yourself not only in the colorful world of an alien planet, but also enjoy an intricate sci-fi plot in the spirit of mid-20th century science fiction books. The story follows Selena, an astronaut from ASTRA who was forced to make an emergency landing on a planet called Atropos. What was the surprise of the girl when she saw countless of her own corpses on the surface of the earth. Now she has to unravel the mystery of a distant planet and try to escape from the time trap, because with each death you return to the starting point, and the environment changes beyond recognition.

Immerse yourself in the amazing atmosphere with your head and go to explore the colorful unearthly landscapes. When creating the game, the developers paid special attention to creating a memorable environment, whether it be the landscape or the local inhabitants. Each time you will discover unusual creatures and get acquainted with their behavior, as well as be surprised by the detailed graphics that allow you to feel the whole spirit of an unknown planet. The unique project of the Norwegian studio Housemarque was originally released as an exclusive for the PlayStation 5, but after several years the developers released the game for personal computer users.

About This Game

The original feature of the project was that at death the whole world changes beyond recognition. Start from the starting point and follow the same path, but find completely different things and different opponents. Each of your journey will be different from the previous one, which only adds the necessary tension and allows you to feel the seriousness of what is happening. Think over each of your subsequent steps and treat new opponents with extreme caution, because they will easily end your adventure and you will have to start all over again.

Elements of psychological horror will add suspense and will not let you relax for a minute during the gameplay, especially at the beginning, when the whole environment seems as alien as possible. Often you will descend into dark caves or wade through narrow gorges, and it is not known what awaits you at the end. Take care in advance that you have several types of weapons in your arsenal, and that the equipment reliably protects all parts of the body, otherwise you risk returning to the starting location again and again. Pay special attention to the tower of Sisyphus towering above the planet. It is here that the memories of the previous inhabitants of the planet are stored, as well as interesting facts and the background of the main character. Take part in fierce challenges and overcome numerous difficulties to set a new record and unlock access to exclusive items.
