Update v1.1.3 is live! This one brings a big batch of improvements to Steam Deck and gamepad support, save safety, UI navigation, building, fishing balance, and map exploration.

Map & Exploration

• Increased the size of the minimap.

• Discoverable locations and points of interest now appear as question marks on the map until you find them.

• Removed minimap zoom to keep navigation simpler and more consistent.
  

Gamepad & Steam Deck

• Improved overall gamepad support.

• Improved Steam Deck compatibility.

• Added a virtual keyboard for easier text input.

• Improved navigation between UI elements with a gamepad.

• Updated static input prompts so they now display your current keybind instead of fixed prompts like Press "E".

• Input prompts now properly adapt to keyboard, gamepad, and Steam Deck controls.

• Fixed an issue where Left Click could accidentally be assigned while rebinding controls by adding a short input delay.

• Building and NPC placement can now be controlled using a gamepad.
  

Save System

• Updated the save system to make your progress safer.

• The game now continuously maintains a backup of your save file.

• If your main save becomes corrupted, for example due to a power loss while saving, the game will now attempt to recover from the backup instead of overwriting your progress.
  

Building Improvements

• Updated the Building system and added a new Snap system for easier placement.

• Added the ability to reposition existing placed objects.

• Click an object to move it, or hold the input to pick it up and remove it.

• Building placement with mouse and keyboard is still being polished, and we’ll continue improving it in upcoming patches.
  

UI & Accessibility

• Improved several UI visuals.

• Updated the localization and font systems, partially addressing cases where characters could appear in inconsistent fonts.

• Added a new Fishing Effects option in Settings. You can now disable fishing UI shaking and color-changing effects.
  

Fishing Balance

• Updated fish values and weights:

• Common: Value increased from 14 → 16, weight range changed from 0.1–0.6 → 1–3.

• Uncommon: Value increased from 18 → 20, weight range changed from 0.7–2 → 2–5.

• Rare: Value increased from 40 → 45.

Reduced the starting/reset/fallback Fishing Mastery XP requirement from 100 → 50.

Other Improvements

• New players now start with 300 Penguin Coins.

• Optimized the intro scene.

Update v1.1.2.2 is live! This is a small fishing-focused patch with a few visual, audio, balance, and animation improvements.

Improvements

• Updated the position of the UI that appears after catching a fish and made a few small visual improvements.

• Fishing animations now work while your penguin is sitting.

• Fishing reel sounds are now properly controlled by the SFX volume setting.

• Updated fishing rod prices.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the fishing rod could sometimes disappear.
