What's Changed Since the Demo?

Thank you to everyone who played the demo and shared their feedback with us! Your reports and suggestions have helped us identify areas for improvement ahead of launch.

The full version of Hunting Simulator 3 includes various fixes, improvements, and adjustments compared to the Steam Next Fest demo.

We've gathered all the details in our launch patch notes, so you can see what's changed before heading out on your first hunt.

Launch Patch Notes

1. New Content & Features

• New Companions: Added the American Foxhound and Coonhound dog breeds.

• New Weapons: Added the Beretta 500-Year Anniversary Collection.

• Companion Features: Added tracking GPS and collars for dogs, improved baying/trailing mechanics (barks are audible from greater distances), and fixed cosmetic issues on companions.

• Animal Variety: Introduced new antlers for Elk, Whitetail, Mule deer, and Pronghorn.

2. Gameplay & Hunting Mechanics

• Animal Behavior & Spawning: Enhanced animal sensory/detection systems for realistic awareness, and improved herd replenishing and Legendary animal distribution.

• Improved Tracking: Holding the "inspect" button on a track now allows you to easily follow a specific animal.

• Scoping & Aiming: Overhauled bow scoping and aiming, and allowed arrows to be retrieved after shooting.

• Onboarding & Difficulty: Rebalanced game difficulty presets and improved the onboarding tutorial and mission flow.

3. Weapons, Gear & Vehicles

• Weapon Improvements: Resolved weapon display issues (such as scope crosshairs and rails) and updated character models to properly display carried weapons on the player's back.

• Vehicle Handling: Improved general handling, traction, and overall driving physics for all vehicles.

4. UI, Audio, & Visuals

• UI & Quality of Life: Updated world map clarity, revamped the animal spotting UI sounds, added a toggle to disable spotting highlights, and improved bagging window features.

• Audio & Dialogue: Added new NPC voiceover lines, fixed missing voiceovers, and adjusted audio behaviors (e.g., fowl no longer make noise while hiding).

• Visual Polish: Fixed environmental visual bugs and polished various animations.

5. Performance, Stability & Bug Fixes

• Stability: Resolved multiple crashes, fixed memory leaks, and optimized overall performance and particle systems.

• Physics & Collisions: Fixed issues like foot-sliding on animals, invulnerable animals, erratic ragdoll physics, clipping through walls/floors (including photo mode), and protected the NPC butcher from taking damage.

• Localization: Updated and resolved missing text strings across supported languages.
