Description

Dark Hours is a 1-4 player co-op survival horror game where you play as thieves whose perfect heist goes awry when a supernatural entity takes over the auction house you’re robbing. The game combines stealth, survival, and co-op gameplay mechanics as players must find an escape route or survive until dawn before a demonic entity begins hunting them down. Gameplay revolves around exploring procedurally generated environments, solving co-op minigames, and managing equipment such as lockpicks, hacking devices, and flashlights. While collecting valuable loot is your primary goal, you must balance greed and stealth as carrying more items makes you noisier and attracts the monster.

What makes Dark Hours unique is its combination of cooperation and betrayal mechanics players can steal from their comrades bags or use them as bait for the creature, adding an element of tension and unpredictability to each session. The game features multiple locations, each with its own scenarios and creatures, three difficulty modes (Normal, Hard, Nightmare), and a progressive difficulty system where the creature gets stronger as the night goes on. Procedural generation of building layouts, locked doors, and item placement ensures high replayability, while character customization options allow players to unlock unique items to personalize their experience. Your heist will never be the same in the procedural environments of Dark Hours. Don’t get lost!
Manage your equipment: A lock-picking set, a hacking device, a flashlight or a crowbar? Pick your gear and find all sorts of items during your exploration. Use them wisely with your teammates and you may have a chance to get out alive. Or not…
Escape or survive: There are only two ways out: find the exit or hide from the creature until morning. Will you make it through this dreadful night?

Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup process

No installation is needed — this release is fully pre-installed and ready to play, so you can skip setup wizards and long updates entirely.
Extract the archive (RAR/ZIP) to a short, Latin-only path like C:\Games\GameName using WinRAR or 7-Zip — and never launch the game from inside the archive, as that is the top cause of launch failures.
Launch the game via Run Me!.bat (or the main .exe file) in the game folder. If nothing happens, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.

Having trouble launching the game?

Check these common causes before troubleshooting further.

Install the required runtimes if the game reports a missing DLL or fails to start: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x86 and x64) and DirectX Runtime. If the release includes a Redist or _CommonRedist folder, check it first.
Check Windows Security quarantine if files are missing after extraction. Restore only files you trust, then add the game folder to exclusions if necessary.
Use a short Latin-only folder path, for example C:\Games\GameName. Avoid Cyrillic characters, very long paths and special symbols.
