Description

THE MUTE HOUSE is a classic survival horror game in which Emily, a determined police officer investigating the disappearance of her sister in Ashtown, discovers a mysterious mansion in the woods. The game uses traditional fixed camera angles reminiscent of older horror games, and focuses on atmospheric exploration and tension. Players must manage Emily’s limited inventory and solve logic puzzles to progress through the eerie mansion. Combat is resource-focused, and careful ammo management is crucial to surviving the mansion’s hostile creatures. Developed by December Blues Games, this indie adventure game combines elements of exploration, puzzle solving, and strategic combat to unravel the dark secrets behind the recent disappearances and the mansion’s haunted history.

Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup process

No installation is needed — this release is fully pre-installed and ready to play, so you can skip setup wizards and long updates entirely.
Extract the archive (RAR/ZIP) to a short, Latin-only path like C:\Games\GameName using WinRAR or 7-Zip — and never launch the game from inside the archive, as that is the top cause of launch failures.
Launch the game via Run Me!.bat (or the main .exe file) in the game folder. If nothing happens, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.

Having trouble launching the game?

Check these common causes before troubleshooting further.

Install the required runtimes if the game reports a missing DLL or fails to start: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x86 and x64) and DirectX Runtime. If the release includes a Redist or _CommonRedist folder, check it first.
Check Windows Security quarantine if files are missing after extraction. Restore only files you trust, then add the game folder to exclusions if necessary.
Use a short Latin-only folder path, for example C:\Games\GameName. Avoid Cyrillic characters, very long paths and special symbols.
Run the game from its main executable after extraction. If nothing happens, try Run as administrator and check the full FAQ for the exact error message.
