Love Elections and Chocolate centers on Oojima Yuuki, a student at Takafuji Academy, a massive institution with thousands of students and enough extracurricular activities to fill a small town. He and his childhood friend, Sumiyoshi Chisato, spend their time in the Culinary Research Club, a group that exists more for snacking than actual research. Their laid-back routine at Love, Elections, and Chocolate is upended when the upcoming student council elections threaten the existence of society. One of the candidates, Shinonome Satsuki, proposes a reform that would shut down the club, leaving them with only one option: enter the race and fight for survival.

Yuuki, who has never shown much interest in politics, finds himself caught up in the chaos of the election. As he strategizes, forms alliances, and navigates the unpredictable nature of student elections, he quickly learns that there’s more to running than just speeches and flyers. His friendships, principles, and even personal relationships are tested in unexpected ways as he juggles the demands of the election and the complex social landscape of Takafuji Academy. This journey is not one of tense debate and strategic maneuvering. The process brings out the quirks and conflicts within the student body, mixing moments of levity with more serious moments. Personal motivations drive each candidate, leading to unexpected twists and turns, and a student discovers that winning means more than just saving the community.
