Description
Skin Deep is a dynamic shooter with elements of immersive sim. It is necessary to explore a huge spaceship, and do it as unnoticed as possible. The hero will have to sneak, blow up and sabotage — all to survive in this stellar sandbox. The hero is alone, he cannot be detected in any way, and he has no weapons or even shoes. The reason is simple: the character was traveling in a cryocapsule on a spaceship, wanted to get to another planet. But a gang of pirates attacked the haven of star travelers. The ship is in danger, as are the unsuspecting prisoners of the cryochambers. Only the hero, thanks to a system failure, was lucky to thaw in time and get a chance to survive.
NOTE. Uploaded version: 11 October 2025 [Build 20251006]. This is Full Release and latest version of game. The game is already Pre-Installed and ready to run the game, read the instruction below.
The lack of weapons at the very beginning is the main feature of Skin Deep. In order to survive, not be detected, and still get out of the trap alive, you need to do a lot of mischief. Even the absence of shoes can turn into an advantage, because barefoot it is much easier to climb all sorts of ledges and heights, climb into ventilation holes, move without making unnecessary sounds. Of course, such harmless stealth cannot help out forever. You need to climb into closed offices, pick locks, search rooms. Sooner or later, you will be able to find an unattended pistol… or something larger. And then the victim will turn into a hunter.
In any case, the main weapon in this game is stealth and invisibility. There are a lot of enemies, so if you eliminate them, then only one by one, and so that no one notices the body. Otherwise, all opponents will be raised on alarm, and it is simply impossible to cope with such a crowd. It is better not to bring it to direct clashes; explosives, a trap, or just stealthy walking will cope with the tasks more effectively.

GraphicsFix for text render issue. On Steam Deck / AMD video cards, this fixes an issue where text in the world was sometimes not rendered correctly.CrashesFixes crash with skullsaver. We had a crash relating to save/load of skullsaver particle effects.Fixes crash with interest point. We had a crash relating to the save/load of interest points (these are the disturbances that enemies investigate). This crash was related to how we were saving the list of enemies investigating a point.Fixes interest point crash. This fixes a crash that was sometimes happening when an interest point was investigated.Fixes crash with cat cage. This was a crash relating to the player using a hack grenade on a cat cage multiple times.Fixed crash with electrical box. There was a crash related to damaging the electrical box.
Crash: WiregrenadeThe wiregrenade weapon had a bug in its save-load system. The wiregrenade had a typo in its save-load logic, that was accidentally saving-loading an incorrect piece of information. This is now fixed!Render issue when alt+tabbing while using a fullscreen GUIThere was a bug where the render system would behave strangely when alt+tabbing out of the game while using a fullscreen GUI (such as the email screen or level selector). This was due to some logic that made the game render the 3D environment and 3D elements in the GUI at the same time, which made the graphics renderer unhappy. This is now fixed!Softlock: Using memorypalace in outer spaceThere was a bug where opening the memorypalace in outer space put the player into a strange state. This happened because we have some logic where we close the memorypalace when the player jumps (goes airborne). However, when the player was floating around in outer space, the player was being considered always airborne. This is now fixed!Quiet/muted audio after loading a savegameThis was a bug where loading the game sometime resulted in the game audio becoming very quiet/muted.The game does \"audio ducking\", where in order to make dialogue more audible, we temporarily lower the volume of ambient/environmental sounds. The save-load system wasn\'t fully cooperating with this. This is now fixed!Crash: Brazilian PortugueseWe had a crash in certain levels when the language was set to Brazilian Portuguese.Passwords in the game are randomized. In text notes, special characters are used to represent them. For example, in a text note: \"Hello, the password is %s%s%s%s\", the \'%s\' characters are replaced with the password letters you see in the game. The bug here is that one extra \'%s\' was accidentally added, resulting in a crash. This is now fixed!Missing creditsWe added some missing credits in the opening credits sequence.Fix render issues with AMD RX 480 and AMD HD 7800Some people were experiencing render issues with specific video cards. This is now fixed!
