Description
Eydigard takes gamers into the world of a cooperative RPG, the events of which unfold in the mystical fjords of Northern Norway in the early 16th century. The spreading plague devastated the region, turning thriving farms into ruins and disturbing the peace of local residents. The player controls mercenaries endowed with the gift of transforming into various animals of this region. The atmosphere of the project is heavily dependent on Norwegian and Sami folklore, populating the game world with characters and creatures from local legends.
To survive, you will have to fight mythical creatures and cope with the dangers of the plague-stricken area. In Eydigard, exploration will cover abandoned estates, majestic mountain palaces and bustling markets where life is in full swing. During the passage, you will have to communicate with merchants, mysterious wanderers and creatures of myths, along the way discovering stories hidden in the locations. The metamorphosis mechanic allows you to freely change animal forms, each of which provides special abilities for stealth movement, combat, or problem solving.
You will encounter creatures such as trolls, huldrs, and vettirs, all of which are characters from local folklore, and each will require a different approach. The key activity is to restore homesteads that have been abandoned by the disease, turning them into functioning settlements that serve as strongholds. Reviving each homestead presents unique challenges, including puzzles and opportunities to upgrade buildings. The fjord is populated by rival clans, each with their own culture, ambitions, and secrets, creating a confusing political environment.
