Description
System Shock 2 25th Anniversary Remaster begins in 2114, when the protagonist awakens from cryosleep aboard the FTL vessel Von Braun. The ship is captured by bioengineered mutants and hostile mechanisms, and all systems are controlled by the artificial intelligence SHODAN, which seeks to destroy humanity. The player’s main task is to stop the malicious AI and try to survive in the dangerous corridors of the ship. The updated edition offers several key innovations aimed at a modern audience.
The main feature of System Shock 2 25th Anniversary Remaster was the implementation of joint passage with support for cross-platform multiplayer. This function allows a group of gamers to go through the story campaign together, regardless of the systems they use. Before starting the passage, you will have to choose one of three military specializations: an O.S.A. operative, a marine, or a naval officer. The choice directly determines the available skills, be it psionic abilities, weapon mastery or technical skills, and shapes the style of gameplay.
The technical side of the project has also undergone significant reworking. The title received support for ultra-wide monitors and provides performance up to 144 frames per second. Character and weapon models have been improved, and their animations have been updated, which makes the events more authentic. For fans of modifications, official support has been added, and for those who prefer to play with a controller, it has been thoroughly optimized. This version integrates 50 achievements, and numerous quality of life improvements make the original gaming experience more accessible without changing its essence.
