Plant Nursery Simulator puts the player in charge of a retail outlet specializing in gardening. The main goal is to turn a small shop into a large business through direct management. Gamers use the computer in the game to order a catalog of goods, including fresh flowers, seeds, inventory, and various decorations. Once delivered, the products must be unpacked and correctly placed on shelves and display cases to attract potential customers, which requires constant maintenance of order in the establishment.

In addition to retail management, Plant Nursery Simulator offers cultivation mechanics, allowing you to leave the sales floor to work in greenhouses. This space is designed to grow many types of crops from scratch, which requires the gamer to care for them as they develop from seedlings to full-fledged specimens. Home-grown flowers can then be transferred to the store, creating an independent supply system that complements the ordered goods and affects the bottom line.

Direct communication with the public is a key part of the gameplay for generating income. You need to help customers find the items they need and work the cash register to check out their purchases, which can create queues during peak times. The money you earn is then available to invest back into the business to improve it. Options for expansion include increasing the main retail space, building new greenhouses to increase production, and hiring staff to fill the roles of cashier or storekeeper. Progressing in this simulator also unlocks special items that provide useful bonuses.
