Description

The Caligula Effect Overdose is a remake of a popular RPG project released in 2016. The remake is somewhat different from the original, as it has gained better graphics and increased the campaign, which has become almost twice as large. Actions will send a player to Möbius. The plot tells that in the real world it became difficult for people to live, so they massively became hostages of a virtual prison. The past is left behind, so people are looking for a new refuge in the virtual world. Now the high school has become infinite, and the cycle of learning in it is repetitive.

About This Game

You will take over the management of a group of friends who have learned the whole truth about this ominous place and now intend to do everything possible to escape. You will spend most of your time in dialogues with other inhabitants of the world, in exploring the surrounding area and gathering important information. Also, your path to the goal will not do without cruel turn-based battles, where opponents will try their best to knock you down. In battle, more than ever, your tactical planning skills and courage will be useful. You also need to be careful and act dynamically so as not to be trapped by the enemy. Coping with the challenges is not easy, but you will be able to do this if you develop skills.

Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup process for CODEX

Open the .iso with a virtual drive program (e.g. Daemon Tools) — on Windows 10/11 a double click mounts it on its own.
Install the game by running setup.exe and following the wizard.
After installation, copy the entire contents of the CODEX folder from the disc into the game folder and agree to replace the files.
Start the game through its usual shortcut, preferably as administrator.

Having trouble launching the game?

Check these common causes before troubleshooting further.

The steam_api64.dll and other files from the CODEX folder are the heart of the release — if your antivirus removes them, restore them from quarantine and exclude the game folder.
CODEX releases run fully offline. For safety, block the game .exe in your firewall so it never tries to reach Steam.
Errors about missing d3dx9_43.dll or MSVCP140.dll mean the runtimes were skipped — install everything from the disc's Redist or _CommonRedist folder.
