YAR Forgotten Throne is an ambitious open world RPG developed and published by Honor Games, a small independent team committed to leveraging community feedback during Early Access. The game immerses players in a vibrant world steeped in Boreyian myths and legends a fantastic setting inspired by Eastern European folklore. You begin a heartfelt adventure as you choose your path, deciding whether to become a valiant Warrior or a wise Mage, a choice that significantly shapes your story's development and faction alignment.
The gameplay is a rich combination of Action, Adventure, and Simulation mechanics. Beyond the captivating main quest line that uncovers the mystery of an attempt to conquer the noble Boreyian people, players have complete freedom to explore. The vast lands include diverse biomes, from forests and swamps to icy mountains and lava lands, all containing secrets, ancient artifacts, and eerie dungeons to discover. Combat is engaging, allowing players to utilize a mix of melee weapons, bows, spells, and enchantments through a unique combat system designed for depth.
A key feature is the extensive profession system. You can practice skills like Alchemy, Cooking, Blacksmithing, and Magic Crafting, adding a substantial Simulation layer to the core RPG experience. You can also engage in Casual activities like mastering the art of fishing, playing the card game Koshun, and participating in fistfights. As an Early Access title, the developers promise to incorporate community recommendations, new story chapters, and more locations in the final release. Fixed an issue where control bindings (keyboard) could not be changed. All on-screen hints now correctly display the keys assigned in the settings.Fixed an issue where gamepad button names were displayed instead of keyboard keys.When using a keyboard, the “Controller Type” option is now hidden in the settings.
