Description
Away From Home is a delightfully weird descent into a pixelated dreamscape where the charm of a 90s cartoon masks a creeping sense of existential dread. The core fantasy places you in the role of an interdimensional entity inhabiting a young girl named Abby, who explores a strange world alongside her brother Michael. This is not a typical hero's journey; Abby slowly becomes aware that her choices are not her own, creating a meta narrative tension between the player and the protagonist. Squishy and Cameron Smith-Randick have crafted an experience that feels like a love letter to Earthbound and Mother 3, using "dream logic" to justify a world filled with wacky characters and sinister undercurrents.
