Description
Carmageddon Rogue Shift is a brutal roguelite competition where victory in deadly races is the only way to escape a dying planet. The winner earns the right to a perilous journey to the last spaceport, located beyond the mountains. The action takes place in 2050, in a post-apocalyptic world. At night, city streets are overrun by hordes of mutants known as the Hollowed, forcing the remnants of humanity to seek refuge in skyscrapers. Racers fight for survival, using their cars as their primary weapons and mobile fortresses.
The gameplay is built on roguelite principles, offering a unique experience in each race thanks to procedural route generation. Successfully completing maneuvers and destroying opponents earns credits, which are used to visit shops where you can repair your car or install upgrades. Failure doesn't mean final defeat, as Carmageddon: Rogue Shift allows you to save some of your progress as permanent upgrades. Bitcoin earned in races can be spent on the Black Market to unlock new content, which will be available in subsequent attempts.
On the way to the goal, you'll face not only hordes of Desolate but also other threats. Rivalry on the track is created by rival gangs and corrupt security forces patrolling the ruins. Special mutants, possessing unique abilities such as ranged attacks or self-destruct, pose a particular threat. Progressing through the storyline requires defeating powerful bosses who pilot colossal war machines and control entire districts. The final test is a confrontation with a monster guarding the only path to salvation.
