There are two kinds of people: those who dream about leaving the city, and the one in this game who actually buys the ranch. Rancher: A new life is a ranch life simulator from Sim Farm S.A., published together with PlayWay S.A., and it is about finding your place in a countryside that is beautiful, quiet, and occasionally unforgiving.

The ranch starts run down, the way real fresh starts always do. Patch the holes in the roof, fill the cracks in the walls, paint the rooms in colors of your choice. Once the work starts paying, furniture gets replaced, interiors get redesigned, and the decorations finally arrive. The house is your first project, and the satisfaction of fixing it by hand sets the tone for everything that follows.

Food stops being something you buy and becomes something you raise. Garden beds and the greenhouse fill with vegetables, the orchard hands out apples, and meals get cooked in the kitchen, on the grill, or over a campfire, with recipes ranging from easy to properly complex. Fresh fish and a glass of cold milk taste different when you earned them, and the cows double as living lawn mowers, which is the most honest job description on the property.

The workshop gives every spare hour a purpose. Tools and equipment expand over time, and boards you cut yourself turn into structures of growing complexity: a bookcase, a fence around the pasture, a birdhouse. Somewhere between the chores waits a forgotten car that deserves a second life too, with new paint, a repaired engine and fresh tires standing between it and the road into town.

When the work allows, the countryside hands out its own rewards. Ride an ATV along forest trails, walk the woods gathering mushrooms, photograph the animals, explore the ranch on horseback, visit the shooting range, go fishing, or end the day with a campfire and a barbecue. The ranch asks for only one thing in return: eat well, sleep enough, and do not overwork yourself.

Rancher: A new life fits players who want their escape slow and hands on: building, growing, repairing, and living at a pace the city never allowed. The land is not going anywhere, and neither is the feeling of making something yours, one honest day at a time.
