Melody Farrington loved the word Chatoyant. Before the outbreak she taught English at Williams College and savored quiet classroom moments. Now she leads students through a campus where everyone else hunts the living. Escape From Zombie U:reloaded by SodaAnimations turns her classroom into a survival zone.

The college is overrun. Former students and staff move through the halls looking for human flesh, and Melody is the only adult left standing. Her weapons are the tools of her trade: chalk, school supplies, and improvised devices built together with the students who still follow her.

The gameplay splits into two systems. The first is exploration. You move across the campus, search rooms for useful items, and trigger scripted events that react to your location and the state of your character. Dice rolls and your stats decide how these events play out, so every attempt writes a different story.

The second system is combat. Zombie waves close in and you fight them in clicker style action. Melody directs her pupils to place homemade contraptions along the path of the horde. The locations are drawn by hand, giving the campus a soft cartoon look that stands against the violence inside it.

The campaign is single player and includes adult scenes. The mature content appears in the interactions between Melody and the characters she saves, and the developers list panty shots and sexual poses among the game content. The site rating marks the game for adults only. On Steam the game holds a mixed to positive rating from around sixty reviews, and fans praise the hand drawn campus and the unusual premise.

The story leads to several endings that depend on your actions and on who survives. The dice system keeps every rescue uncertain. Escape From Zombie U:reloaded suits players who like adult themed adventures, quirky animation, and survival stories with a female lead.
