Love at The Milky Way Diner

Two hundred years after first contact, humanity is still looking for its seat at the galactic table. Love at The Milky Way Diner is a sci fi visual novel from Lucky Kim and Emanuelle Heikens, published by Clumsy Cat Studio, and it finds that seat behind the counter of a small restaurant. One laid off office worker, one dead aunt, and one diner inherited in the middle of nowhere.

The setup carries the tone of the whole game. The protagonist loses their corporate job on Mars just as news arrives that their distant aunt Cassiopia has passed away suddenly, leaving a request behind: she wanted a relative to take over her restaurant. The inheritance is not a fortune but a second chance, and the diner becomes the center of a new life among the stars.

Cooking is the heart of the loop. More than 130 recipes can be discovered and cooked for the customers who pass through, and each dish is a conversation starter, a relationship builder, and a puzzle of its own. The visual novel storytelling blends with point and click and RPG elements, so serving the diner is as much about people as it is about food.

The project is building in public through early access. The story is planned across three chapters, with chapter one available now, carrying over 80,000 words of dialogue and 17 character CGs, including nine that are new since the demo. The roadmap gives the release a clear shape, and the foundation is already substantial.

The result is a space story that stays warm at its center. Aliens, recipes, grief, and new beginnings share the same counter, and the game treats all of them with the same care. Love at The Milky Way Diner is a visual novel for players who like their sci fi served with comfort, one plate at a time.
