Description

The game AI The Somnium Files is made in the form of a fascinating detective story, where an experienced detective acts as the main character. He has to investigate a mysterious series of murders and try to find the criminal. Go with your ward to the crime scene to try to find additional clues. Search for evidence by carefully inspecting every inch of terrain. You will also have to deal with many witnesses who often provide conflicting information. Try to sort through the data flow to find truly valuable information among this variety.

During the investigation, your hero begins to see unusual dreams. It seems to him that these dreams are not of him, but of the criminal, which means that they need to be carefully understood. Explore the locations that you see in a dream, remember people and try to find them in reality. Night dreams can be the only thread that leads to the criminal. Understand the events in your life to successfully complete the investigation and put the maniac in jail.

Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup process for CODEX

Open the .iso with a virtual drive program (e.g. Daemon Tools) — on Windows 10/11 a double click mounts it on its own.
Install the game by running setup.exe and following the wizard.
After installation, copy the entire contents of the CODEX folder from the disc into the game folder and agree to replace the files.
Start the game through its usual shortcut, preferably as administrator.

The steam_api64.dll and other files from the CODEX folder are the heart of the release — if your antivirus removes them, restore them from quarantine and exclude the game folder.
CODEX releases run fully offline. For safety, block the game .exe in your firewall so it never tries to reach Steam.
Errors about missing d3dx9_43.dll or MSVCP140.dll mean the runtimes were skipped — install everything from the disc's Redist or _CommonRedist folder.
