Wolfenstein Blade of Agony — a lot of cool modifications have been created on the DOOM engine, ranging from various improvements to the original game and ending with full-fledged alterations. Suffice it to recall the popularity of the Aliens TS mod. But the DOOM modders cause lives on to this day. So a small indie team has been developing a full-fledged shooter Blade of Agony in the spirit of Wolfenstein 3D and Medal of Honor based on GZDoom for several years. For those who are not in the know, this is an improved version of the DOOM port, which removes all restrictions from the engine and supports various options, such as support for controllers, high definition, new music formats.

Before us is an independent old-school shooter with a plot, and even cutscenes. It is worth saying that only the doors, the sprite hand of the protagonist, the avatar on the HUD and the meaty atmosphere of the original DOOM are left in it from the original game. In Blade of Agony, our old friend William B.J. Blaskowitz returns and is ready to kick the Nazis ass again. The story begins with the fact that Blaskowitz decided to find himself a more relaxed occupation and began working as a systems analyst for various military operations. But he did not manage to completely tie up with military service. After some time, he receives a message from comrade Douglas Blake, in which it is reported that there is a task for him at the headquarters.
