Description

Kitaria Fables — a combination of action RPG, adventure and farm management simulator. Plunge into the cute world and complete the quests of your animal neighbors as they face the growing darkness. You have access to real-time battles, the ability to explore the world, as well as farming, with which you can get food. In addition, you have the ability to forge weapons and armor, as well as create new spells that make you much more powerful. Kitaria Fables is a delightfully cute mix of Action RPG, adventure and farming simulator, best described as a mix of Cat Quest and Rune Factory. Enter the cute world of Canoider and complete the quests of your animal neighbors as they face the rising tide of darkness. Real-time combat, exploration, and dungeon crawling go hand in hand with farming for food, crafting weapons and armor, and crafting new spells to increase your strength.

Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup process for CODEX

Open the .iso with a virtual drive program (e.g. Daemon Tools) — on Windows 10/11 a double click mounts it on its own.
Install the game by running setup.exe and following the wizard.
After installation, copy the entire contents of the CODEX folder from the disc into the game folder and agree to replace the files.
Start the game through its usual shortcut, preferably as administrator.

Having trouble launching the game?

Check these common causes before troubleshooting further.

The steam_api64.dll and other files from the CODEX folder are the heart of the release — if your antivirus removes them, restore them from quarantine and exclude the game folder.
CODEX releases run fully offline. For safety, block the game .exe in your firewall so it never tries to reach Steam.
Errors about missing d3dx9_43.dll or MSVCP140.dll mean the runtimes were skipped — install everything from the disc's Redist or _CommonRedist folder.

Still not working? Find error-specific fixes and runtime guidance in the FAQ.

Update v1.0.0.8:Fixed “Tricked by a Cheeky Merchant†achievement. Achievement will now trigger on completion and is now rewarded if already completed.Increased tree spawn rate at Paw Village.Renamed several monsters. Update v1.0.0.7:In-game time is now 66% slowerOpening a menu (inventory, shop, chest, etc) will now pause timeImplemented a better sleep time system. Now the time you wake up is determined by what time you went to sleep. If you go to sleep at dawn/morning you will wake up at dusk. Go to sleep at noon and wake up at night. Go to sleep at night and wake up in the morningUsing a sword now targets the closest enemy at some distance. You can still use Lock-On to lock on to an enemyIncreased collider accuracy. Hopefully this will prevent you or monsters going behind walls
