Dear Allogloom fans,

A huge Thank You

I want to thank you all for supporting Allogloom! I appreciate everyone who helped me find bugs, gave me feedback and supported me throughout the development. With the game releasing today, I would like to look back at how it all started.

A little bit about me

I am a solo developer from New Zealand. I have always loved mysterious story games since I was young. My little mind was BLOWN when I found out that players could add their own content to games. I still remember creating little bits of custom content in Microsoft Paint for example to draw little skulls on clothes. Over the years I have had to learn how to do a lot of different things just to make my own game. These skills include illustration, game design, story writing, and animation.

I still have piles of sketchbooks and journals with ideas and doodles from the development phase. They don’t look pretty, but it helped me to have something physical to refer back to in order to realize these ideas from concept to production.

A day’s worth of work might have looked like a few scribbles on a page in a notebook, but it saved me so much time! It did cause me to get carried away once in a while though.

Again, I couldn’t have done this without all the wonderful people I have met along the way.

I want to thank Kim, the super talented creator of the Allogloom sound track, Joseph, my lovely partner, and my friends who supported me throughout this journey. I would also love to thank all of you, the players and supporters, for everything.

I hope everyone has a great time exploring Gruesome Grove and beyond! I can’t wait to hear everyone’s opinions on the game.

Lot’s of stuff has been happening this year behind the scenes for Allogloom, especially this week!

It was awesome to have a booth at the NZ Games Festival Level Up Exhibition, and as always it was lovely to meet and chat with everyone who played the demo.

And also this week Allogloom has been part of ANZ Indie Fest, what a cool bunch of games being made in Aussie and Aotearoa NZ!

Dev Update

Development is coming along very well, here are some of the things I have been working on. Lot’s of painting, bug fixing and playtesting!

What’s next?

Allogloom is going to be participating in the Frosty Games Fest Showcase and Steam event in June. I will have some exciting news to share with you during the festival, so keep an eye out for the showcase on Sunday June 7 at 8am AEST / 10am NZST.

That same month Allogloom will also be participating in the Steam Next Fest!
