Bug Cleaners

Hello everyone!

We’ve been absolutely thrilled by the recent interest in the Bug Cleaners demo! To be honest, the previous demo build was getting a bit outdated, and we wanted to make sure your experience with the game is as great as possible.

That’s why we decided to bring some of the major new systems and improvements we’ve been working on straight into the demo. We know many of you have been waiting for a fix regarding the infamous disappearing cat. We actually built a completely new system from scratch to solve this, which is why it took a bit of time (there might still be a few minor quirks, but we'll fix them in upcoming patches).

Detailed Patch Notes

New Inventory System

The carrying hustle is finally over! You can now carry up to 5 items at the same time. Your items will be displayed on the brand-new HUD at the bottom of the screen. Just don't forget the cat in one of your mysterious pocket dimensions!

New Lighting System

While it's still a work in progress, we've implemented a much more vibrant and realistic lighting system, and we wanted to give you a preview of it in the demo level! The game looks much more visually appealing now. Plus, the poor cat's shadows are finally more accurate. :)

New Hazmat Suit Colours

In multiplayer mode, your friends will now spawn with different colored hazmat suits so you can easily tell each other apart!

Bug Fixes & Improvements

• Fixed a bug where missions were not being counted correctly.

• Fixed various situations where tools—like the cat—would disappear. Hopefully, you won't encounter this issue anymore! As a reminder, you can always respawn your tools by pressing "J" back at the van.

• Overall game performance has been improved by around 50% (expect much less stuttering!), and we are still actively working on even further optimizations.

Hello everyone. Today, we are bringing various fixes to the demo level for some of the issues you have flagged to us. Thank you for that, and here are the patch notes below.

Patch Notes

• Unstuck Button Improvements: Previously, the unstuck button teleported you back a few seconds, which could still leave you trapped in a stuck position. We have now updated the unstuck functionality to teleport you back to the starting point of the game, resolving this issue completely.

• Tool Reset Feature: We are working on a permanent fix for disappearing tools and most importantly, our beloved cat. In the meantime, to prevent this from interrupting your gameplay, we’ve added a Tool Reset button! Pressing J will teleport all tools back to the truck, allowing you to pick them up and keep playing. We hope to have a permanent fix ready soon.

• File Size Fix: Resolved an issue where a continuously recorded log caused the game’s save and installation file sizes to bloat.

• Multiplayer Carrying System Adjustment: Due to issues caused in our multiplayer system, we have temporarily disabled the ability to carry 2 items simultaneously. For now, you can only carry 1 item at a time. We will re-enable this feature once we fix the underlying system and update the UI. Thank you for your understanding!

You can view the new keybindings in the bottom-left corner of the screen when you first start the demo level.
