Description
Clive Barkers Hellraiser Revival is a single-player horror game from Saber Interactive, transferring the world of Hellraiser to the first-person survival action format. A puzzle that opens the gates to hell, haybeats hungry for new sensations, and a person who is ready for anything for the sake of his beloved.
In Clive Barker's universe of puzzle boxes, it's an invitation to go where they don't come back from. Sunny, Aidan's girlfriend, gets into the Maze, and Aidan decides on something that no one in their right mind would dare to do: bargain with Pinhead, the leader of the Cenobites. In his hands is the Genesis Configuration, a box with his own power, and only after mastering it, one can hope to go through hell and get Sunny out. The story was written together with the creator of the franchise, so the plot is inscribed in the canon, and not just uses familiar images.
Against Aidan are the creatures of the underworld, and to hide from them it will not always work out. The forces of the box become his main tool: with their help, he fights with opponents and makes his way deeper into the Labyrinth. The tension is built on a combination of defenselessness and short violent encounters, characteristic of the best survival horrors.
For film fans, Pinhead's special gift is voiced by Doug Bradley, the same actor who played him in the classic films. The atmosphere is gloomy and frank: the developers explicitly say that the game is only for adults.
