Description

Drop Command is a tactical military simulator with the development of a state, in which the control of combat vehicles is combined with the command of armies and decision-making at the level of an entire star cluster. The player will have to fight for strategic systems, resources, production centers and political influence, while developing pilots and changing their own equipment. In battles, you can personally take control of the selected vehicle or lead large formations.

Each operation requires taking into account not only the location of the enemies, but also the condition of your own troops. Mechs, tanks, flying machines and combat armor can be modified in accordance with the tasks of the upcoming battle, and pilots gradually gain experience. The choice between an experienced elite squad and a large number of less trained fighters can change the approach to combat. With direct control, you can independently participate in the clash, and when commanding an army, you can distribute forces and direct units throughout the field.

Beyond individual battles, a procedural campaign unfolds, in which military actions are closely connected with economics and diplomacy. It is necessary to fight for strategic resources, important star systems and production centers, while interacting with planetary governments and rival powers. Completed and failed objectives have consequences for subsequent operations, so the events of one battle can change the further development of the campaign. As the war progresses, new influential groups appear, among which pirates, mercenaries and independent states may arise, changing the balance of power in the entire cluster.

Step-by-step setup process for Pre-installed (Portable)

After many years of development, Drop Command launches today.

Drop Command is a tactical combat and strategy game where you command Mechs, Tanks, VTOLs, and Infantry in battles for territory across an entire star cluster. Engage in combat from the cockpit as a battlefield commander, direct your ground forces and call reinforcements, train your fellow pilots from recruits to aces, and build your empire amidst the ashes of your vanquished foes.

The game has evolved since we first started development, and getting here has been a very long journey. Over the last several months we have been preparing the game, listening to feedback from the demo, and getting Drop Command ready to launch.

It is finally time to hand the controls over to you.

If you have been following development, playing the demo, or have added Drop Command to your wishlist, we sincerely thank you. Your support made it possible for us to keep building this game.

Welcome back Pilots!

Today brings the final patch before launch day. This patch brings updated weapon sound effects, a massive improvement to unit AI, and several bug fixes both minor and large. You can now disable shadows in the settings menu which will reduce GPU usage. Full patch notes below, and we'll see you all next week for Launch Day!

Optimization

  • Optimized spark and cockpit spark VFX

  • Optimized missile explosion VFX

Miscellaneous

  • Updated weapon sound effects

  • Player fired weapons now have 25% base volume boost

  • Added toggle Shadows to settings menu

  • Added 3 second delay before mission end countdown begins

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed massive bug in unit AI target acquisition, causing them to often ignore nearby targets

  • Fixed several issues causing soft locking when refitting a unit with no weapons

  • Explosion VFX now correctly return to the object pool when unwitnessed by player

  • Overheat sounds now only play while player is in combat state (stops in refit bay and tactical map)

  • Overheat sounds now only play once rather than twice if shutting down from heat

  • Shutdown sound no longer plays multiple times while shutting down from overheat

  • Fixed several null reference exceptions
