Description

Gear Puzzle the inheritance of grandpa is a classic and very atmospheric adventure puzzle in the style of classic point-and-click quests from HunDong Studio, which immerses you in a mysterious family drama with a touch of steampunk. The main character is an ordinary teenager Karl who works at a mechanical factory far from home and returns to his native land to celebrate his sister's birthday. However, at home he is faced with complete horror: his father has disappeared somewhere without a trace, the family has absolutely no money, and collectors and bandits are already trying to take away their cozy family home. The only chance to save loved ones and protect the home is to go in search of the truth and unravel the mysterious legacy of your grandfather, which is hidden deep inside ancient family walls and mechanisms.

The main feature of the gameplay is interaction with the environment through the exploration of cozy hand-drawn locations where every detail was inspired by the atmosphere of steampunk films. The mechanics of the game are completely built on the logic of attention to detail and solving more than 30 different mechanical puzzles where you have to fix water pumps, turn rusty gears, adjust sensors and correctly combine items in your inventory. A huge plus and an important feature of the fresh full release of the game was the appearance of the second chapter, which takes Karl to an amazing miniature world with its own squares, markets and altars, as well as the addition of a convenient built-in system of free hints in the form of a light bulb on the screen that every three minutes restores charges and helps in difficult moments without any advertising or internal purchases.

Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup process for TENOKE

  1. Mount the .iso image — Windows 10/11 mounts it from the right-click menu, otherwise use Daemon Tools or a similar tool.

  2. Run setup.exe from the disc and install the game — Tenoke builds are already cracked, installation is all it takes.

  3. If the disc contains a Tenoke folder, copy its contents into the installed game directory.

  4. Launch the game from the desktop shortcut (as administrator).

Hello, everyone!

Gear Puzzle: the inheritance of grandpa has left Early Access, and the full release is now available. Thank you for playing, waiting and sharing your feedback. This update brings Chapter 2 to the Steam base game, alongside free hints and several fixes. Existing owners can download the update at no extra cost.

Chapter 2: a journey into a miniature world


Leave the familiar family home and follow Carl into a miniature world. Explore its square, market, altar and other locations. Look for clues, collect and combine items, and solve new mechanical puzzles as you continue investigating Grandpa’s disappearance.

Both chapters are included in the base game.

A little help when you need it


After the introductory tutorial, the light bulb in the bottom-right corner gives you access to free hints:
  • Start with 3 hints and store up to 3.
  • Recover 1 hint every 3 minutes after using one.
  • See the recharge countdown directly below the hint count.
  • Revisit the same revealed hint without spending another charge.

There are no ads, in-app purchases or paid hint unlocks. Follow the clues yourself, or get a little help when you need it.

Fixes and improvements

  • Fixed a black screen that could occur when starting the Windows version for the first time.
  • Fixed issues with some Steam achievement triggers and synchronization.
  • Updated save handling and asset loading.
  • Updated the engine, with a 64-bit Windows version and a macOS version supporting Intel and Apple Silicon.

Returning from the 2019 version?


The update uses a new save format. Progress from the 2019 version cannot be continued in the new version, so you will need to start a new game. Your old save files are kept.

To continue your old progress, right-click the game in your Steam Library, open Properties → Betas (shown as Game Versions in some clients), and select legacy_2019. Wait for Steam to finish switching versions before launching the game. No branch password is required.

To play the full release with the new content, select None to opt out of betas, then start a new game in the updated version.
