Description

Lost Host is an adventure about a small toy car that sets out to find the missing host. One day, the boy disappears from his room, and the familiar house turns into a large unfamiliar space for the remaining toy. The search begins among things and furniture, but gradually leads the hero to foggy streets and abandoned places.

The world is perceived from the height of the wheels, so ordinary household items become obstacles, shelters and useful tools. You need to carefully inspect the surroundings, solve puzzles and find a safe way forward. The physical system allows you to push and move many objects, creating your own ways to overcome obstacles.

Traveling requires caution. Water, fire and falling from a height are dangerous for a small car, and dogs, robot vacuum cleaners and strange toy creatures can interrupt searches. The traces of the disappeared boy lead through increasingly disturbing locations. Behind the story of an independent toy, a mystery is gradually revealed, on which the fate of its owner depends.

Installation Guide

Step-by-step setup process for RUNE

  1. Mount the .iso file in a virtual drive — on Windows 10/11 double-clicking the image is enough.

  2. Run the installer from the disc and install the game — the release is already cracked, so no manual file copying is required.

  3. Use the desktop shortcut created by the installer to start the game.

  4. If the game does not launch, copy the contents of the RUNE folder on the disc into the installed game folder and try again.

Phew, what a sleepless night... :D

This night felt pretty much like this monster toy looks... :D

Today I've released Update 1.05!

While fixing one critical bug, I accidentally made a mistake that caused another critical bug. :D That's what happens when you're rushing to release updates, especially when you're developing a game all by yourself. Fix one thing, break another... Oh, the joys of solo development! :D

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who's been reporting bugs! I'm doing my best to fix everything as quickly as possible.

Please make sure to update your game to version 1.05! Versions 1.03 and 1.04 contain critical bugs that could potentially break save files or make certain parts of the game impossible to complete.

Patch Notes - Versions 1.04 & 1.05

Critical Fixes

  • Fixed a critical save-breaking bug in the City location. This could happen when a player entered the warehouse, returned to the city, collected a star, and then got run over by a car.

  • Fixed the dog AI. The dog wasn't doing anything because I accidentally broke it in the previous patch while fixing another critical bug. :D

  • Fixed an issue with the first racing mission.

  • Fixed a cinematic scene freezing after completing the racing mission.

  • Removed DirectX 12 support, as it was causing black screens for some players.

Other Improvements

  • Improved the destruction effect — the RC car now falls apart more realistically when destroyed.

  • Fixed several floating objects that weren't supposed to be flying around.

  • Fixed the flying tree in the backyard.

  • Various other minor fixes and improvements.
