Description
Salvation Echoes of War is a surreal third person adventure in which a military pilot finds himself trapped inside a comatose nightmare created by his own memories. After being gravely wounded, the hero finds himself in a strange purgatory, where the past takes on terrifying forms and familiar war events become twisted trials. To return to life, he must overcome his own fears, understand what happened, and find a way to come to terms with his experiences
The heros journey takes him through bleak environments inspired by real-life wars of the past, but reimagined as part of a nightmarish world. Here, danger reacts to light and sound, so open confrontation isn't always a wise choice. Players can hide, seek safe routes, distract pursuers, and use the environment to avoid confrontation. In some situations, a unique, dog-like companion provides assistance: it can assist with pathfinding, solving puzzles, and traversing dangerous areas stealthily.
As the journey progresses, purgatory reveals more and more details of the pilot's past. Enemies include various souls, each with its own behavior and threat level, while strange creatures embody the fear and suffering associated with the events of the war. The exploration gradually connects with the hero's personal history, so the places, encounters, and mysteries discovered not only help them move forward but also better understand the reasons behind their current situation. The main goal remains unchanged: to find a way back to consciousness and regain the ability to live.
