Description

Trash Day is a cooperative game where players become raccoons and embark on an unusual journey with a cart full of treasure found. The road home passes through a noisy world of people, full of obstacles and unexpected situations. In order not to lose production, you need to work together, help each other and find non-standard solutions.

To move forward, raccoons use different improvised items. Boards, cables and other things help to throw the cart over barriers or drag it through narrow aisles. Sometimes you have to come up with non standard ways to solve the problem using everything around you.

Travel turns into a constant exploration of the world around you. Players discover new places, turn over trash cans and look for useful finds. The further they go, the more difficult the obstacles become, so you have to constantly working together and coming up with new ways to keep going.

Step-by-step setup process for Pre-installed (Portable)

  1. No installation is needed — the game comes fully pre-installed and ready to play.

  2. Extract the RAR / ZIP archive with WinRAR or 7-Zip into any folder, for example C:\Games\GameName.

🌐 Multiplayer

  • Stalled Connections: If your connection to the host stalls, you're now dropped with a "connection timed out" message instead of staying in a half-broken game where things stop appearing, disappearing or responding. Rejoin and you're back in sync. We think this was behind some of the "everything is glitching" and "I can't pick anything up" reports, so if it still happens to you, please send us feedback from the game.

  • Lobby Failures: If Steam can't create a lobby, you now get a warning that friends may not be able to join, and you can carry on solo. Before, you got an error and no game at all.

  • Stability: More fixes for errors when players leave, disconnect or change levels.

🗺️ Levels

  • Filled in multiple crevices that players couldn't get out of, including the gap at the base of the piñata tree, launch day's most popular raccoon trap.

  • Junkyard: Closed a shortcut that let raccoons skip a big chunk of the level. Sorry, speedrunners. (We're not sorry.)

  • River: The green button on the mine track gate in the caves no longer vanishes at certain angles.

🖥️ UI & Quality of Life

  • Load Game: Load Game now has its own screen, which is much easier to navigate with a controller.

  • Join Game: The Join Game screen now shows each game's campaign progress, so you know what you're jumping into.

  • Feedback Button: F8 now works from the main menu too. Keep the reports coming. We read every one, even the ones sent from the bottom of a ditch.

🎶 Audio

  • Music Reverb: Music shouldn't be affected by reverb anymore.

  • Volume Balance: Rebalanced the volume of music stingers and UI sounds.

A note from the team

We're Off By One Games, a small team of former Rocket League developers. We started the studio in 2023 to make physics games and landed on this one... where your plans go wrong on purpose. We spent years making physics games about perfect precision. This one is the opposite.

You got us here

In June, the Trash Day demo was one of the 50 most-played demos out of roughly 4,400 at Steam Next Fest. More than 600 of you reviewed it as Very Positive, more than 300,000 of you wishlisted it, and your bug reports kept us busy all summer. Thank you.

New since the demo

The demo was one area. The full game has six, from Animal Control to the Junkyard, with new obstacles and a lot more trash to haul. Bring up to five friends. The wagon is a lot for one raccoon!!

The soundtrack

Trash Day has 22 licensed songs, led by Forkroot and TRASH DAY (that's their "Get Up!" in the launch trailer), with Tokyo Machine's "CRANK" waiting at the end of the road. In his words: "ONE MAN'S TRASH IS SIX RACCOONS' ABSOLUTE TREASURE."

Every song is Content ID free, so stream it, clip it and monetize your videos without music claims. The Trash Day Soundtrack will be out on Steam soon!!
