Valor Mortis

Valor Mortis introduces the player to a soldier of Napoleon's Grande Armée who has risen from the grave on the battlefield. A character named William awakens in an alternate Europe, altered by a mysterious plague sweeping the continent. He discovers his rebirth, feeling in his veins the same destructive force that feeds the epidemic. This revival initiates a journey with battles against terrifying monsters and an investigation of a conspiracy that threatens everything humanity.

The combat system in Valor Mortis is built on a combination of parries, jerks and brutal finishes performed by various types of weapons. Each death in this game provides an opportunity to become stronger, making up the basic principle of the gameplay cycle. William is able to channel distorting energy within himself to amplify attacks and unlock new supernatural abilities. As a soldier, he served Napoleon and died for him, but was returned from the battlefield for the sake of a new goal in the stricken world.

Advancement in this project requires mastering combat mechanics to consistently deal damage to enemies. Unlocking new supernatural abilities provides additional tools to fight the monstrous inhabitants of the continent. The character's journey transforms him from a loyal soldier of the Grand Army into a creature wielding power that requires control. The central conflict forces William to use the acquired distorted force to confront the sea that gave rise to it, which makes this game experience especially stressful.
